COLON EXPLODER

parallel extra habanero Fuzz

feel the burn in two places at once.

We’re all huge fans of The Other Ass, a comic that absolutely nails what it’s like to be a musician. When Ryan (the genius author) published a comic about pedal called the Colon Exploder, we knew what we had to do. This pedal has two fuzz circuits in parallel (blended together) and two volume knobs; it’s butt simple (no pun intended). The Butt knob controls the volume on a beefy bassy butt fuzz, and the Fire knob mixes in something high, nasty, and largely out of control. Combine the two and unleash them on the audience. Does it burn? Absolutely. Is it worth it? Only one way to find out.

controls

Butt: Volume knob for the Butt Fuzz. This is a thick, low-endy (but not farty) fuzz guy that we made sure earned its name. Turn up this knob to get more low end into your sound, turn it down for less.

Fire: Volume knob for the Fire Fuzz. This is an unruly, barely-contained fuzz with a ton of high mids and presence. If you want feedback, the Fire Fuzz got you. Turn this knob up for more high-end and a little octavey weirdness.

Note: The Colon Exploder has two fuzz circuits in parallel, which is different than most pedals. Instead of putting the fuzzes in line (as if they were two different pedals on your board), you’ll hear both at the same time. If you’ve ever tried a pedal with a clean blend, you’ve used this before - but instead of ‘fuzz’ and ‘clean’, the Colon Exploder has ‘fuzz’ and ‘other fuzz’.
